This panel discussion delves into the dynamic intersections of community, food, and culture, bringing together artists who use their creative practices as tools for social connection, cultural reflection, and resistance.
Chaired by socially engaged artist Anthony Luvera, the conversation features Rajyashri Goody, whose project Eat With Great Delight sheds light on the systemic oppression of the Dalit community in India and the vital role food plays in shaping their identity, and Becky Warnock, who is presenting the live artwork A Welcome Table as part of Peckham24.
The discussion will explore how food functions both as subject and medium—offering insights into heritage, social justice, and collective memory. Through photography, performance, and storytelling, each artist examines how shared meals, culinary traditions, and cultural rituals shape identity and foster connection. Together, they will reflect on how their work preserves heritage, nurtures belonging, and brings people together across generations and geographies.
