A Welcome Table: Brixton Pansies: TRANS IS GOOD!
In the wake of the Supreme Court’s devastating anti-trans ruling, the Brixton Pansies theatre troupe presents a rapid-response piece of queer theatre.
Audiences are invited to take a seat at the table, where protest takes the form of performance and where joy becomes a radical act.
Drawing upon their collective writings; this rehearsed reading is written and performed by: Biogal, Bri Leung, Dani Dinger, Danielle James and Ishmael Kirby with contributions from Jaye Hudson- developed in collaboration with artist Ian Giles and playwright Louis Rembges.
Rooted in the legacy of 1970s gay street theatre, this new short play emerges as both resistance and celebration, amplifying trans voices at a moment of urgent need.
Presented as part of Becky Warnock’s A Welcome Table the piece weaves storytelling, protest and joy into a live expression of queer resilience.
This is theatre as survival—messy, beautiful and defiantly present.
